Mastering Engineer, Larry Anthony had his first
recording studio experience in 1968 when the band he was in made their first demo recording. This was a real
turning point and he quickly became involved in the recording
process and has pursued this career ever since. Obtaining
degrees in Electronics and Acoustics along with intense studies in
Psycho-acoustics he has dedicated his 37 years of Music Industry experience
to focus exclusively on the best possible mastering processes. Larry
continuously researches the latest and greatest advances in audio
processing and brings all this knowledge and experience into the
mastering sessions. So, What Is A Mastering Engineer?
The CD mastering engineer is one who has a musical as well as
technical background, good ears, extremely hi-end equipment that is
constantly tested for peak performance, technical
knowledge and has an excellent sense of timing and pitch. He knows how to
operate a wide range of specialized technical equipment, much of
which is not found in the average recording studio. The successful
mastering engineer understands many musical styles, edits music, and puts it all together with
sophisticated digital processing tools. He is sensitive to the needs
of the producer and the artist, and treats each project with individual
and personal attention. He must understand what will happen to
the CD when it hits the radio, the car, the club, or the home stereo
system. When the mastering process is completed by a
professional mastering engineer you and your listeners will be exposed to
the music only, not the processing which it has under gone. We are adamant about the end result of your
music album that it's all about the music and all technical process and
treatments live behind the curtains of the stage not out front with your
music performance.
